Giusi is a Psychologist (Provisional) with international clinical experience and a strong commitment to supporting individuals across the lifespan in their journey toward growth and well-being. Originally from Italy, she moved to Canada in 2020 and brings with her a solid clinical background developed as a psychologist in Italy since 2017, where she worked with adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of therapeutic settings.

In Canada, Giusi has worked both in a centre for children on the autism spectrum and in a treatment centre for women with substance use. These experiences have strengthened her ability to work with complex emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges. Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions, with the goal of helping clients develop greater self-awareness, psychological flexibility, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves.

Ongoing professional development is a core value for Giusi. She strongly believes that there is no final destination when working with people’s lives, but rather a continuous process of learning, reflection, and personal growth. In her clinical work, she frequently uses Steven Hayes’ mountain metaphor. Like her clients, Giusi is also engaged in her own personal journey. From her perspective, she supports individuals in identifying alternative paths, recognizing obstacles along the way, and moving forward with greater clarity and intention.

Giusi strives to create a therapeutic space that is safe, warm, and non-judgmental, where clients feel supported in exploring both challenges and strengths. Her work is collaborative and relational, emphasizing empathy, authenticity, and the co-creation of clear, meaningful therapeutic goals.

Outside of her professional role, Giusi is a dynamic and curious individual. She practices Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism, which informs her outlook on life and personal responsibility. She shares her life with two wonderful Goldendoodles, who bring daily joy, and with her husband, with whom she shares several passions, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She also enjoys cooking—especially Italian cuisine—and travelling, maintaining strong connections with her family in Italy, whom she visits regularly.

Giusi offers therapy with professionalism, warmth, and dedication, supporting clients as they build effective coping strategies to navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, and relational difficulties, and as they work toward lasting personal change.

Let’s Work Together!

Dr. Brian Zelt is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists bringing over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Zelt earned his Ph.D. from the University of Calgary in Educational Psychology with a focus in Community Counselling and has supported clients in diverse settings including private practice, employee and family assistance programs, and not-for-profit organizations serving vulnerable children, adolescents, and families.

Dr. Zelt offers individual and family counselling for a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-harm, stress, anger management, self-confidence, work-life balance, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, separation and divorce, parenting, adoption, bullying, parent-child conflict, life transitions, and family of origins issues.

Dr. Zelt’s counselling style draws from a number of treatment and theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Humanistic Existentialism, Developmental Psychology, Family Systems Theory, and Trauma-Informed Care.

With decades of experience, Dr. Zelt has witnessed the remarkable capacity for growth and resilience in individuals and families. He believes that most challenges in life arise from coping strategies that are no longer effective in meeting current demands, rather than the result of personal deficiencies or breakdowns.

Dr. Zelt further believes that we are all purposeful creatures and nothing that we do is arbitrary. Therefore, when faced with the challenges of life, most people take them head-on with whatever coping skills or resources they believe to be advantageous at the time. Unfortunately, some of these coping skills or resources are not sufficient to manage the intensity or complexity of the problem experienced. Other times, it is previous life experiences, fears, or other competing motivations that get in the way of adequately responding to the task at hand.

As a Registered Psychologist, Dr. Zelt is committed to helping clients identify and overcome these challenges, and to discover new coping strategies that enhance resilience and strengths in children, youth. adults, and families.

Dr. Zelt looks forward to meeting you!

Outside the office, Dr. Zelt enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, gardening, travelling, watching hockey, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Zelt is the proud father of one son and two step-daughters.

Dr. Zelt works at both the South and North offices.
